caught between two levees

st. bernard's parish sits between two levees. to the far north is the levee that holds back lake pontrachain and also is the same levee that failed during hurricane katrina. on the south side is the mississippi river levee. caught between and below two levees, water can't escape.

bicycling into the lower ninth ward and through st. bernard's parish, i stopped to take this photo.
