The Queen Rules..

The bee keeping team (madmen Ervind and I) spent some time teaching an Introduction to Bee Keeping Course in Gyan Dura. A few villagers were already avid beekeepers, although the majority of their hives were traditional tree trunk hives, carved from the tree! The tree trunk hives were sealed with a combination of mud and dung. The only problem with these hives is that they are slightly difficult to manage. Finding the Queen and navigating the hive is problematic since the layout is natural and the bees make their combs wherever they please.

But, mmmm, fresh honey from the comb. Truly a tastier than tasty treat.
